Decades of cognitive research can inform classroom learning. However, the research is not always translated into practice. Come learn more about the six strategies - spacing, interleaving, elaboration, dual coding, concrete examples, and retrieval practice - and how to utilize them, in order to promote durable long-term learning. Dr. Sumeracki will also go over resources that are available on learningscientists.org to learn more about the strategies and their use in the classroom. This session was co-sponsored by the Teaching & Technology Center, the Academic Achievement Center, and the Office of Teaching & Learning.
